A door needs a key. I remember vividly some
time ago when I misplaced my key in the university, I was homeless for few
hours. I had to borrow the legs of a hefty guy called Ecstasy. On getting to my door, he used his legs to boot it open,
in my very eyes I saw my door gave way for his steal legs. This was when I
realized the tricks we see in movies have splashes of reality. But come to
think of it, do you think his steal legs can boot the doors of a warehouse open?
I believe it is his flesh that will open for his broken bone.
A door needs a key; the content of a
warehouse is juicier than that of a room. This illustration can be applied on a
spiritual level. Every breakthrough we have in life is an “open door”. God opens a door
for us to possess the contents of what the door is protecting. Sometimes there
are doors we try opening but won’t open, we go ahead to borrow peoples axe,
keys, legs (like Mr. Ecstasy) but all to no avail.
The bible said in Revelation 3:7 “And
to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things said he that is
holy, he that is true, he that has the key of David, he that opens, and no man
shuts; and shuts, and no man opens” I have come to realize that it’s
not all doors we want to be opened that are meant for us, everyone has their
names written on a door just like how the rooms of a hotel are numbered. Our
prayer should be “God open the right door meant for me”.
For us to understand the importance of a
key, when I play games like God of War, Uncharted, Dark Siders, I realize that
some doors can’t be opened, you either need to travel as far as Paris from
Nigeria or finish the game to get a key code. Even in other games like the "Last of Us"
and "Dead Space", there are some doors you need to risk one of your knives (The
last of us) or Torque (Dead Space) which are rare commodities in order to open
certain doors that house several items like weapons, gears for upgrades which
makes the game easier and more interesting. I believe there are people who play
these games without opening these doors although; they finished it but may
experience little difficulty.
“Prayer is the key” ever come across
this song or saying? Prayer is indeed powerful Matthew 7:7-8 said “keep
on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will
find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who
asks receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door
will be opened” NLT.
In conclusion, don’t cry an ocean when some
doors don’t open for you, it might be you are not ready to behold what
lies behind or the contents are not meant for you. God is keeping treasures for us
and not from us; we need to be matured spiritually before certain doors can be
open for us.
This is our year of
Open Doors, every shut door in your life that’s meant to be opened before now,
bows to the name of Jesus and gives way for you to possess its contents. Don’t
be surprised one door leads to several open doors. Hallelujah!!!
