   Recently we went to a company with the intention to relay strategic plans that could help publicize their services. On getting there, we received an ill treatment from the receptionist who at that time wasn’t enlightened enough to understand the logic of our business. Due to frustration of inadequate communication mixed with the bad reception, we were inspired to write this article in other to save other companies from the assassination of big business deals by the receptionist (both laugh). There are
several factors that could hinder the growth of a company e.g. the receptionist, unenlightened personnel or employees, cheap labour and so on. But today NewDawnBrothers out of the many factors are focusing on one in this episode which is The Receptionist.
THE RECEPTIONIST
   Before we go deeply into this subject matter we will like to serve on the plate of your mind the role of a receptionist in other to lay a solid foundation and then build on it with facts.
Who is a receptionist?
   A receptionist is one who sits at the front desk of a company receiving visitors and businesses opportunities on behalf of the company. A receptionist is often the first business contact a person will come in contact with in an organization. It is an expectation of most organization that the receptionist maintains a calm courteous and professional demean or at all times, regardless of the visitors behavior.
   Since we know that a receptionist represents the image of the company or could serve as the first link between two companies here are some tips on how to identify a competent receptionist:
Have a top-notch organizations skills: Every organization has its aims and objectives. The receptionist ought to check-box the to-do list by meeting the basic requirements which will enhance business growth. Sticky notes might come in handy; having an idea of basic technological equipment, been dependable and undergoing pressure is important.
Good manner of approach: Despite the receptionist personal issues that may be challenging and sometimes encroach into business hour, politeness is a major factor and it should be used to magnet people towards having business relationship with your company.
Possess excellent listening skills: When business ideas are presented, the tendency that major business breakthroughs might come out of these ideas is high. As a receptionist, you owe your organization the ability to listen attentively either face-to-face interaction or phone conversation.
Take note of everything: “Time, Date, Names, Contact information” are ultimately important. Record keeping enables the organization to have insight on several business approaches from the public.
