THE JOY OF EASTER: THE LOVE OF GOD

Easter is not only a season to merry with family and friends but a season to show love. The core value and significance of Easter is the magnitude of what Love can do.
Easter is a feast that commemorates Christ's resurrection, observed with variations of date due to different calendars on the first Sunday after the paschal full moon.

Most of us are familiar with the Bible story on how Jesus was betrayed by Judas and sold to the high priest who made crucifixion possible. Well let’s not look at it from the bad side because if not for Judas, Jesus might not have died on the cross (ever thought of that?). We still don’t know why Brother Judas betrayed Jesus or if he was predestined to do so.

From another perspective, do you think Jesus could not have said “I’m not the king of the Jews” so he won’t be beaten to stupor or do you think he couldn’t have dropped the heavy cross while in Golgotha and say “I can’t carry this anymore, its very heavy”?. He could have use some miraculous means to even come down from the cross and announce he is the son of God especially in Luke 23:39 “One of the criminals who were hanged there was hurling abuse at Him, saying, "Are You not the Christ? Save yourself and us!" …but yet he received every pain to express love for humanity. He took every single stroke of metal chains, spikes even nails as long as nine inches driven into his hands and legs. Despite everything he had thoughts of you and me.

So why then hardened your heart over a fellow man knowing fully well no man can do what Christ did for us. While at the cross in pains he said “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing." Luke 23:34. Although one of the thieves antagonize Jesus while the other opposed by telling Jesus in verse 42 "Jesus, remember me when you come in your kingdom!". Many of us will ignore his request but remember whosoever believeth in him shall have an eternal life. Look at what Jesus told him in verse 43 “Truly I say to you, today you shall be with me in Paradise."

On the third day he rose up and he announced we should do as he has done meaning we should love as he has, we should show care to every living soul.
Reason why our world is decomposing away slowly is because the love we need in keeping it alive is rotting in our very hearts
If only we can show love like Christ did by been selfless, the world would spin the right direction and blossom ones more.

God is love, Jesus is the son of God, therefore Jesus is love and so are we the children of God. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son…” John 3:16. Meaning we should show and have love.

Easter is a beautiful season where we need to turn our ways aright by killing and checkmating every evil lurking within us so that God can dwell in our home, surroundings and flesh. Also bringing people into the marvellous light, as seen in Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven”.

Now that you’ve known what the joy of Easter is, go out there and show love like never before, someone needs your love desperately.

Happy Easter Celebrations
