PRIDE: QUIT FORMING

“F.o.r.m.i.n.g” ever come across these words? Well if you are not in this part of the world “Nigeria” precisely then pay attention to the meaning. Forming can be referred to as when an individual is feeling full or big of him/herself, either because of his parent’s asset or he has something you don’t have like a new set of boxers or panties lol (that’s what I picture to make the individual look human/equal in my eyes). The reason why we feel bad around these egocentric folks is because we care so much about their feelings without caring for ourselves.

I was a victim of inferiority complex, I remember back then when I go to major shopping malls, plazas, gardens or outlets, I’m like “damn see chicks, see guys, see flashy cars, phones, baff up (sweet fashion senses)” no matter how well dressed I might be, I go home with a heavy headache. I kept wondering what was wrong with me, why can’t I have those things or why am I not like them or when will I be like that? Unknown to me I was just harming my beautiful self.
When you done with this article, you will be able to stand tall and strong anywhere you find yourself regardless of a peacock’s presence.
In the movie “The Interview” at some point, we were made to believe the North Korean President didn’t have a butt hole, he was a supreme being that doesn’t visit the white house (toilet). What an imaginary adoration they painted him to be. Okay, reverse the thought. Everyone is same, man, woman, boy, girl, grand dad, grand ma, we are all equal, same hormones, same genitals, of course they can vary in shape, color and sizes and sometimes extra chromosomes alter stuff but what I am saying is “we all have one head, two eyes, two hands and so on. So why feel bad about yourself?”
Life is a journey, something we ought to enjoy every last bit and not lament in regret and shame. No one in this world is better than you; you are the only one who can decide to see the best part of you or otherwise. Although, you have to add value to yourself so you can evoke importance when in the midst of people. You can’t give what you don’t have. The journey into value goes deeper into transforming your entire being to what you ought to be, there are several things you teach yourself about life in the process which turns out to be right because knowledge is available to those who makes themselves available.
When in public, you need to appreciate people for who they are, admire their swag, carriage, body language, even go ahead and learn from it but never wish to be them rather wish to make yourself your own kind of celebrity, celebrate yourself, there are several things you know which for sure they don’t know. Even if they seem to be the smartest artist in the world, they still lack one skill or understanding in one area or the other. “Ever seen a perfect person then I’d show you a perfect sheep”.
The moment you realize no one is perfect and that no matter how well curved, pointed nose, glassy skin, fluent accent they may possess, they have their flaws. Everyone has passed the stage we are today, some even wish and pray to be like you…yes you that feel you have nothing to offer.

“Do not overrate what you have received, nor envy others. He who envies others does not obtain peace of mind”- Buddha

When you see someone achieve or prospers, celebrate them it is a sign to alert you that God is in the neighborhood. Fight jealousy with all power and might so it shall be well with your soul also answered prayers.
Now you know this truth, I believe someone is giving a sigh of relief; the problem has never been them, but you. How you chose to see it. Men will always be men, always wanting to show off material stuff, but you know better. Proverb 16:18 says “First pride, then the crash, the bigger the ego, the harder the fall”

So why don’t you just chill and sip the juice you can afford, rock the stage you are in. Mind you James 4:6 says “But he gives more grace; Therefore, it says God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble"

Luke 14:11says“For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted”

Proverb 22:4 says “The reward for humility and fear of the lord is riches and honor and life”

I believe if you are proud; it’s good you turn new leaf and appreciate people, make yourself accessible and see good in people. As for the humble, it’s cool to know you have been humbled but don’t let your humility fool others, wake up in confidence, eat boldness, drink courage and walk with self-assurance.
