WORLD MUSIC DAY LIVE AT THE FRENCH INSTITUTE OF NIGERIA ABUJA

   The French Institute of Nigeria marked “World Music Day” yesterday 12th December 2014. If you are famous with this particular event you might be wondering why it came in December which doesn’t happen to be summer season? Well the breaking news is that the event was shifted from June 21st, 2014 due to weather conditions.
   The event took place right within the beautiful walls of The French Institute of Nigeria situated at 52 Libraville Cresent Abuja, FCT Nigeria. It was day filled with funfair packages and activities such as Performances by Oso Onidirin, Julietta (Queen of Pop), Lawrence Llyod Benson, Blaqboi, Root Boy Panama, Lady Joy, Diamond, Mike Wonder, Papa Icosa, Igbom Kuta, Maxsteel, Lady Ucha and lots more.

   Not forgetting the Market, Christmas Fare, and Art Exhibition for creative minds to showcase and sell their products; Food stands with Samosas, spring rolls, mini quiches, Sausage rolls, Alloko, Peppered Chicken with sorted drinks; 
     The French Institute Abuja collaborated with Diamond Music Entertainment to check box 2014 chapter of the World Music Day. The icing of the cake is realizing that the event was an open event thereby making it free for all works of life to have a taste of good music.
  Brief History of World Music Day
   The idea behind the World Music Day “Fete de la Musique” emerged by an American Musician Joel Cohen, who spent two season as a producer of musical radio programs for the French National Radio. The idea later was adapted as a national celebration each June 21 (the first day of summer in each cities around the world) in France and made official by the French Minister of Culture Jack Lang. The festival later became celebrated in 110 countries around the world of which Nigeria happen to be one of them.
