FAÇADE

Breaking his bones was the hardest part. I had blood stains on my favourite Trust Jacket. I had to hide from my wife so she won’t know the deed I did to put food on the table. The perfect excuse we all use to keep doing bad.

Just the other day, I heard my next door neighbor committed suicide after securing a loan which he used to buy a 2016 Mercedes Benz C-Class...the bank claimed his house, cars and even his business leaving him with nothing but butt naked on the street where his life had a game over.

His showing off and rubbing shoulders with me ended up bashing him.

Craig Groeschel in his book Struggles, stated that “Since the advent of the social media, unhappiness is our primary emotion because we can easily peep itn the lives of other people who put out the best photoshopped, cropped, filtered foot for us all to see”

Just like the façade of a house, when we look at the outside part of people’s lives, we easily get distracted thereby stirring unrealistic expectations about life.

In my article “Why overnight success is unrealistic” I made it clear that “The only way overnight success occurs is if there has been constant impression on a solidified foundation of hard work and patience”

Why the rush?
Actually where are we rushing to? What happens next after making the cash and building the mansions? Truly what next? Ever asked yourself that?

“People are more focused on attaining wealth than retaining it”.

One thing that has been my guiding principle is not to hurry in life

Take a look;
Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari who later attained presidency at the age of 73 that is 32 years later after he was Head of State at the age of 41… it took him an entire life time to achieve such but yet he did.

* Alinko Dangote whose company was a small trading firm established in 1977 but today happens to be a multi-trillion naira group who has branches across Nigeria, Benin, Ethiopia, Senegal, Cameroon, Ghana, South Africa, Togo, Tanzania, and Zambi

Rainoil Limited was established in 1994, Mr Gabrel Obechie the group managing director worked alone at the birth stage but currently, the company have bulk storage - 2 ultra-modern petroleum product storage depots i.e. a 50 million litre capacity multi-product depot in Oghara, Delta State, a 40 million litre capacity multi-product depot in the Calabar Free Trade Zone, Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. They also have over 38 retail outlets spread across the country, a fleet of over 75 tank trucks and 6 shipping vessels.

Wrap up
Its better late than never…I’m not saying we can’t achieve our goals in early age, but it’s not enough to kill yourself or give up just because you feel you are old enough.

When you see people succeed, it means two things, either they have laboured hard in previous years, or they use a negative shortcut. Either way don't be carried away...stay focused and determined.

There are numerous factors hindering your success, take out time to learn every bit life has to teach you cos you will always emerge successful if you want. Its a hardcore choice tested
