Being a girl, lady, woman (female) I believe is a tremendous privilege anyone who finds herself on earth as such should appreciate other than complaining and comparing certain creational deeds that can’t be tweaked.
Before we go further, we all need to know who a lady is. According to TD JAKES he defines a lady “as an engendered species, a unique and valuable personality, who is sensitive, temperate and very competent in all her affairs, she is a woman with a dream who has a progressively resourceful personality”
Over time here in Nigeria, Africa, an average girl’s dream is nothing but getting married to a wealthy tall dark and handsome guy.
Everyone wants good thing but how nuch have you made yourself good enough to behold?
The Nollywood movies, the novels, impractical song lyrics and other polluting materials carve and shape unrealistic castles built on air with no sustainable foundation. This crash on reality when she figures out her outdated mentality has locked her up from updated guys who cannot connect with her.
In this present era where gender equality has been fought for and solely given to ladies, while others are struggling, I see the 21st Century Lady excelling.

Time shift: Purpose, Plan, Prospect
Back in the days, wealth seemed to be a manly perfume worn by men alone. Just like every human made for a purpose, a lady was designed and made for something out of something (Man). Therefore, she isn’t here to colour the earth with colourful makeup and soprano voice alone.
Frankly speaking, no man wants to marry a liability for a wife, not anymore.
The 21st Century Lady asks herself these questions;
A. What’s my perspective about life?
B. What do I want to contribute to humanity?
C. How can I attain it?
She strives to identify her role, build herself in it and attain the greatness she so desire.
As the economy becomes more tightened, every woman should strive to make an extraordinary mark in various sectors of life.

There is more to life
70% of Nigerian ladies believe that marriage is next after graduation so they look for well baked men to engage them, even before having a reliable source of income all in the name of wanting to be happy and gain societal respect by bearing “married woman”
Truth be told, many of these half baked ladies feel empty few months after the wedding euphoria slides away for a broke realism to kick them underneath the belt.
They suddenly realize how much is there to be achieved but family, children becomes a burden to move further. Their dream suddenly pauses because they aren’t living a life of their own anymore.
A 21st century lady knows that there is more to life than getting married. The experiences, knowledge, skills, maturity, tour, and lots more are basically what modify her into a ripe individual for marriage.
She knows that there is a need for personal grooming, a need for self-improvement so that her future husband, children and society can drink from the well of knowledge she had been able to acquire over the years.
Reason why we have ill mannered kids today is because we have two childish people who got married too early.
There shouldn’t be a limiting factor hindering you from higher degrees, starting your own business or getting a good job than under-developing yourself all in the name of waiting for Mr Right who is at your left looking at another girl “Miss Right”
Bills
Have you checked the cost of antenatal/postnatal, caesarian/normal delivery? If you have might just abstain from sex even while married lol.
I’m not saying this to scare you; I’m just trying to drag your attention to something.
Many ladies actually do not do the math of what marriage entails before thinking about it but a 21st Century Lady does.
She knows that it’s not kids that determine happiness rather the happiness between she and her husband that makes the kids happy. Therefore if the means of sustaining a happy home isn’t available, there is no need to rush.
Wrap up
She can be you
Ladies its time you begin to take up the challenge by creating a future of limitless possibilities for yourself.
Don’t say it will scare potential suitors; it will help bring suitors that will help you grow, instead of ones that will be intimidated by your achievement cos birds of same feather always wanna flock together.
It is the value you place upon yourself that determines how men will accept you.
A man who truly loves you will want you to grow no matter what it takes. So relax and develop yourself towards the picture you have painted for yourself so that when you look back you will smile and not cry.
Wanna say Happy Birthday to the warm loving super girl that inspired this article. Keep shining...
