DEALING WITH FOOT ODOUR

“Show me your shoe and I will tell you who you are”

Imagine you meeting up with one of the finest girl in the universe and she follows you home. She likes your swag, persona, lyrics; in fact she wants to eat every part of you unknown to her that you got pungent foot. Then she takes of your shoes and BOOOM!!! Complete the rest…

How many of you can deep your face into your shoes and take a huge chunk of breath without chocking? If you can, put your hands up!!!

Nice hands down, for those of you who can’t do such, this article is for you.

How can we prevent foot and shoe odour?
1. Wash socks and dry properly: Most times when you wear damp socks, it builds odour quickly cos they are going to be encased in a tight corner. This over time builds into dynamite if not properly handled. And also after bath, ensure your legs are properly dried before wearing your socks.

2. Have different pairs of socks: Guys, I am pleading, socks aren’t expensive. No matter your earnings or no earnings, you can afford socks. Get as many as you can and wear not more than 2-3 times before washing. Meanwhile there are some socks that enhance sweaty legs, watch out for them and avoid them.

3. Bath regularly: Bathing morning and evening can’t be over emphasized anyway. After morning shower, your body is exposed to series of germs that must be removed via evening cleansing (bath). Your foot has been enclosed for more than 12hours and you just must give it a bath if you want to remain sane.

4. Manicure and Pedicure: Trim those talons and claws so you can be human. Toe nails have series of corners for germs to hide and build themselves. It’s advisable you take out time to clean your toe nails no matter how busy you might be either as a lady or gentleman.

5. Sundry/Spray Perfume: Just like your armpit that yearns for deodorant, your shoes and foot yearn for it. Sometimes I just take a spray and anoint my shoe if I see it’s becoming uneasy for me. Other times, you might need to sundry your shoe especially if you are the type that sweats on your foot.

Other options include sprinkling baking soda in your shoes to kill bacteria; and don’t wear same pair of shoes everyday amongst others.

What causes foot odour?

If you watch the movie War Room, you observe that the main character Elizabeth Jordan (Priscilla Shirer) had a terrible foot odour that ruined her marriag (I don’t think people saw it from that angle though). I made a little research, to my greatest awareness; it was what I was thinking. Footvitals.com wrote on this:

Foot odor is caused by sweat mixed with bacteria from your skin. Sweat by itself is odorless, but when it comes into contact with bacteria it begins to smell bad. Shoes and socks are the perfect environment for sweat and bacteria to mingle, which is why it’s critical to maintain proper hygiene.

When I was little, let’s say 8 years old, there was this brother who used to visit us. This guy had some terrible wrath of shoe odour that forced us to excuse the sitting room. I remember one day he visited, I hid under the sitting room table, only for him to hide his dead foot right under my nose....*yuck*

Shoe Hypocrites!!!

My friends use to laugh at me when they see brush the bottom of my shoes; they say I treat it like a woman. “You will still stump the bottom on the floor so why bother”. These same folks who laugh and ridicule my shoe cleanliness are the ones who also want to wear my shoes when they have a chance. I call them Shoe Hypocrites!!!

“Great foot and shoe care boost your confidence.”

Wrap Up
Can we say the level at which one takes care of his/her shoe determines the way he/she can take care of his spouse. Lol well to some extent though.

In this 21 century where hygiene is a game changer in boosting attraction, terminating foot odour is an victorious move. Girls this isn’t for the guys alone. Adhere to simple instruction to save someone’s live.
