A celebrity is a famous or celebrated person, one whose hard work has yielded productive results. Not every successful person turns out to be celebrated by the world. Am I right? Reasons I’m yet to know, but it doesn’t mean they are not celebrated amongst their peers or family.
The category of celebrities I am talking about are the ultra-famous ones; the ones we see on national TV, magazines, advertorials, movies, even in our dreams which involves movies, music artists and fashion models. I must confess that a celebrity’s life is not easy; it’s like living your world for the public and that’s why sometimes, it’s as though they live two separate lives (one for the TV the other for their family).
Many people are ready to do anything and everything for fame but the question is when you become famous, WHAT’S NEXT? Ever wonder about that? People thinks it’s all about shopping, clubs, tattoo, getting high and all sort of earthy disgrace but I am writing to say it’s a very wrong illusion.
This picture is super uglee but check out the likes and comments...could this be what people really desire when struggling to become a celebrity? |
If you’re thinking I’m going to hype celebrities, you are reading the wrong article cos I’m writing to blast every atom of negativity.
Before I start my shelling, I want you all to know there are real good celebrities out there, people that know what being a celebrity really is; but they are few which is wrong. The role of a celebrity is to change the world’s system, to act as another means of government where by people can be lured to do the right thing. It’s like advertisement, why do they use celebrities to market a product? That’s because they (the celebrities) have the convincing power to lure anyone into patronage. You may not listen to the law but once you see your favourite celebrity say “don’t do such”, you will not do it. It’s just like a kid that loves spider-man; whenever it’s time for breakfast, he refuses his mother’s meal but when she says “Spiderman eats this for breakfast every morning”, you’d realise the kid will eat every last piece and ask for more.

There was this dude i saw on a show "The Doctors" who spent $100,000 on plastic surgery to look like Justin Beiber, still he was complaining he didnt get the perfect result. (Just give me a 100,000naira alone you will be shocked what i will do with it, then imagine $100,000 OmG!!!)
It’s beyond singing, dancing, acting movies or being a fashion designer. The major social responsibility of a celebrity is “to get rid of bad and preach more of good” if not, they shouldn’t be given utmost respect cos they are causing more harm than good to the society.
Am I beginning to make sense? C’mon let’s take a look at Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana), the virgin of Disney back then; pure, innocent, funny and quite charming, getting lots of guys to crush on her and have her in their fantasies... (Believe me she was really cute *winks*) but now, she has turned herself into a superficial human being (no offence, just saying). Sometimes I sit down and ask myself, what value are the likes of Madonna, Miley Cyrus, Rick Ross etc. (used to like them) and what they are passing into the world other than immorality, profanity, vanity lyrics and ill behaviours?
It’s the likes of these celebrities that are actually corrupting the society; sometimes I ask myself “why won’t I see Rick Ross showcasing anything other than music with weed, money and half naked ladies?” Aint they and their fans tired and bored of all same illusions (sex, money, weed etc.). Most of these celebrities forget who gave them these gifts, just like the guy in the Bible that buried his talent. Celebrities are icons; everyone looks after them and wants to be like them, so they ought to be extra careful where they lead people to. I’m deeply angry at the hungry media who encourages these ugly acts via movie scripts and music productions. Even the censor board these days know nothing about censorship.
Drew Berrymore got married to Will Kopelman on 3rd June 2012 in a garden; it was a very simple wedding ceremony for her class of celebrity nevertheless, she refused to throw a big party (guess she knew what she was doing) unlike Kim Kardashian (yeah... the hot one) who has two ex-husbands (Damon Thomas and Kris Humphries) and is now married to Kanye West, spending millions on the wedding ceremony. Haba!!! Yes, I know it’s their money, ET asked Drew Berrymore “if you have a chance to remarry your husband would you do it as big as Kim’s own?” She said “nope, I’d prefer the small wedding I did; I wish Kim and Kanye a happy married life”.
Still not making any sense? C’mon, we know celebrities barely last in marriages regardless of how big or small the wedding ceremony is (Not pointing fingers, just saying). Souls are lost out there in the world and they need someone to drag ‘em out and not pull them into the pit. That’s where celebrities comes in, using their fame to bring the light to the world “The word of God” Hallelujah! Now I feel like preaching. That explains why best I love Christian rock, they may wear tattoo or have piercings but the words they preach and transmit are rich, genuine, capturing and so on.
I asked a well known NTA presenter why do some celebrities end up in penury despite the fame, respect and wealth? he responded "When you are a celebrity, there are so many things you have to meet up to". Could all these madness be glued to reasons of keeping and increasing fan base, likes and friend request on social media?
Whoever you are; celebrity or aspiring to be one, wherever you are, let your works preach Christ and good works because on the last day, we all would be asked what we did with our talents. Rethink if your favourite celebrity is leading you to destruction or destiny.
HAba Tiwa i expected more from you...you were or "are" married for Christ sake black woman. |
