Within the past few years, thousands of Nigerians picked interest in blogging. While some follow the day to day trend, others carve a unique niche for themselves. No doubt creating contents that have never been created before is one major difficulty but the most difficult experience ever is maintaining one's objectives, style and content to sustain valid readership.

Make welcome Sharon Okereke an unsurpassed blogger I fell in love with on twitter. The first thing that got me attracted to her blog is her theme. Its simplicity, flashy pictures that calls you to action, creating an hunger for every post. The next thing that awed me is her blogging concept and content.

Here I am interviewing her for your reading pleasure. She posses winning attributes I know would make you her No1. fan.

Can you neatly advertise yourself to us?

My name is Sharon Okereke, I’m from Abia State. I am a law student, blogger, fashion designer and I love photography. I’m the chief editor of StyleReine

Why blogging, why not something else?

Blogging was born out of my passion for two things; writing and fashion. I decided to start writing about what I love most, everything pretty much fell in line after that.

How long have you been into the blog thingy?

I’m still relatively new to the business, April will make it a year.

Who taught you?

Nobody taught me! I just stayed up all night with my laptop kept tapping away until I created a blog, then I started learning the ropes from there. In the beginning, I made a lot of mistakes but I’ve come a long way.

Give me a proper breakdown on how you spend 24hours before you make a blog post?

Sometimes I have it all figured out ahead of time, sometimes I just get a moment of fashion inspo as I like to call it. But the fashion aspect, requires careful planning, outfit selection, photoshoots, editing and writing, usually takes weeks to plan.  The 24 hours before a blog post is purely editing.

What inspires you to blog?

Like I said earlier, I love writing and fashion. My inspiration is borne out of passion; my blog is a means of expressing things I care about, writing, fashion, food, travel, lifestyle, and people.

With the rise of many bloggers any fears on losing your viewership?

It is a thought that has gone through my mind a couple of times. But there is no room for fear anymore! I know what I want to do and how I want to remain relevant. If I keep staying true to who I am and giving my viewers what they want, they’ll keep coming back for more. If more bloggers want to join, they should by all means; the sky is big enough for all of us.

Who are your favourite bloggers and why?

I love stylebyada because she’s different and very edgy, I love Cassie Daves because her writing is real and very relatable and I just fell in love with Yagazie Emezi’s photography.

What’s the next hobby you got that makes blogging jealous?

Photography!!!  My blog is definitely jealous of the amount of time I spend learning and discovering photography.

Where do you see yourself in the next 3years?

In the next three years, I’d be a barrister, my clothing line “Stylereine Clothing” would be a household name, my blog would have expanded its influence, and my photography would have effected a lot of changes.

Would you still blog if you aren’t making money in the next 3years?

Of course! Blogging was not inspired by money but passion. Even if I’m not earning from it, I’ll still need an avenue to express myself.

In your own view, are there dangers in posting explicit 18+ contents?

Yes!!! Please let’s allow our children to grow up before we feed them with trash. The rate at which 18+ contents are available online is quite alarming, you visit a website to get valuable information or download music and all you see is porn. Please bloggers, I know everybody wants to make money but let’s put a check on these things. I fear for our unborn generation, we won’t stop them from going online, I wonder what will save them from the moral decadence.

Would you like to date a blogger? Why?

I’d like to date anybody I’m attracted to, blogger or not.

What your parents view towards you blogging?

They see it as a distraction, pushing me away from my books and law as a profession, but they still allow me to do it.

Are your friends supportive?

Yes! They are my number one fans and my cheerleaders. They’ve got my back and encourage me 24/7

What’s the hardest part in blogging?

The beginning, you make a lot of mistakes, struggle to grow an audience, try to understand your readers, plus the fact that the money isn’t coming in.

What’s your Creati-vo-meter?

I do a lot of online research, troll social media and find out what people want.  I get a lot of inspiration from movies and music videos too
