1st Event: My enterprising weekend started on Thursday, March 2nd, 2017 when I went for a powerful ground shaking symposium Social Media Nigeria-themed “The Impact of Technology on SMEs” at Abuja Enterprise Agency. The symposium was hosted by Emmanuel Otori (Lead Consultant at Market Advantage Consulting) and anchored by Kevin Pakaye Fyneface.
Notable panelist such as Ilias Aliyu (Founder: Nigeria Customer Service Award), Doris Egberamen (Country Director: Push Africa), Marilyn Ogbebor (Speakers Corner’s Trust Nigeria), Ekaette Umoh (CEO: Business Support MFB) Shuaibu Omeiza (Founder: Saharacable.com) coloured the symposium with brilliant coaching on how entrepreneurs can attain a successful business using the social media as a springboard.
No doubt technology has made advert and feedback faster and easier while social media has bridged the gap between customers and brands.
Although the inability to utilise this tool effectively has made series of Small Medium Enterprises to nose dive unavoidably.
Grippingly, the best thing any existing entrepreneur and potential entrepreneur can do is to exploit the new trend by undergoing rigorous study, training and workshops on how master the art and act of marketing their brands not to only attract customers but retain by converting them to leads.
Here are some sites to begin a free course;
2) Coursera
3) Open2study where I just finished two powerful courses “online Advertising and How to be Confident Trainer”
PS: Emmanuel Otori just turned out to be an older, sharper reflection of myself. He is a motivational speaker and a personal development coach...I yearn to be like him mehn. We got talking at the end of the symposium and hearing him speak just melt my heart to golden paste knowing fully well I am on the right track. Stay tuned for my interview with him.
I also met an outstanding Nigerian Tochi Precious whose super powers enables her to speaks Korea and German alongside Igbo and other traditional languages...hmm this is serious ooo... stay tuned for her interview as well.
2nd Event: On Saturday, March 4th, 2017, I was at Parenting with Grace Seminar an annual symposium hosted by my church Graceville Christian Centre. The guest ministers were Rev. Olusola and Bridget Kolade from Vine Branch Church Ibadan, Nigeria.
The primary objective of the seminar is to raise Godly children and maintain a Godly home, despite the complex nature of raising a family in this century alongside the negative influence from the society.
Here are some brief captions from the first section;
A) God wants Godly children from your union
A) God wants Godly children from your union
B) Christians must learn to know Christ as much as they know social media and celebrities
C) Parenting isn’t easy, the sooner you realise this, the earlier you sit up in believing in God to grant you the grace to match up your parental duties
D) Because you were once a child, take it easy in correcting your child
E) Do everything with love
F) Live the life (lead by example) 1Corinthians 4:16
G) We wrestle against spiritualities and powers Ephesians 6:12
H) That something is working out does not mean it can’t be improved upon
I) Parenting is the life of a giver
J) A parent is a crucible Job 1:5
K) A parent is a foundation
L) A parent is a guard and guide
M) As a parent, let your child know;
I) The spiritual is more important
II) Treat people and talk with respect
PS: If you have been a bad parent, it’s not too late to correct it. Simply admit it, apologies to your kids and move on by doing something positively different.
3rd Event: On Sunday, March 3rd, 2017, I was again present at my church Graceville Christian Centre for the finale of Singles and Married Seminar which started on 12th February 2017. Indeed it has been explicitly amazing. Hearing the core truth about relationships and keeping a clean/clear marriage.
Rev. Olushola Kolade wrapped up the seminar from Deuteronomy 22:10. He warned singles not to be equally yoked with an unbeliever cos they are completely different from us via spiritual diet, strength, and mindset.
Being born again is different from fearing God cos someone who fears God won’t beat you, insult you or treat you recklessly.
"Your decision shouldn’t be made on a short-term basis, rather a long-term basis" - Olusola Kolade
Here something’s to look out for in a proposed life partner;
A) Don’t be with someone who is not too attached to his parents
B) Don’t be with someone who cuts you off from your family
C) Be with someone who has a mind of his own
D) Be with someone who is decisive
E) Be with someone who has a definite vision, purpose
F) Be with someone who allows you to express yourself
G) Be with someone who respects and challenges you for good
H) Be with someone who is not stingy
I) Be with someone who is stable and steady
J) Be with someone who is not violent
K) Be with someone who Obeys God no matter what
4th Event: Later that evening, a convergence of potential leaders came under the voice of Rev Olusola Kolade to drink from his pool of wisdom.
