I
remember telling a little story in my article Façade about
a guy who wanted living like his wealthy neighbor only to be caught up with the
law and left dead butt naked on the street.
Spies
Most of
us are spies without our concrete consciousness. We look into people lives
through the windows of the social media, hungry and thirsty over their haves.
This
hunger creates a long lasting starvation that strains our focus from our
destination.
Craig
Groeschel in his book Struggles said something profound;
“As long as you keep searching, comparing and
envying what you don’t have, you’ll never have enough. Only when you rely on
God and practice gratitude for all he provides will you be able to overcome the
dissatisfaction that comes from envy. Envy causes you to resent God’s goodness
in other people’s lives and to ignore God’s goodness in your own.
For people always comparing themselves to others- you know, checking their status and updating their profile- every single day bring more trouble. There’s no way for them to see their blessings because the glass is always half-empty. But people who trust God as the source of their happiness have no desire to compare themselves to anyone else. They know that he loves them and remains in charge of their lives, through pleasant circumstances as well as painful ones.

So enjoy what God has given you, instead of longing for what you don’t have. Be thankful for what God has given you, instead of creeping on someone else’s instagram; “Oh, I wish I had their life” Guess what? They’re longing for your life in ways you don’t even know about.
Enjoy what you do have rather than desiring
what you don’t have.”
Is there a direct map to success?
I
believe there are guiding principles to success but there is no direct map
suitable for everyone rather its flexible state can be effectual by an
individual’s mode of application.
Same way we have variety of personalities to spice up the world, is same way we have variety of ways to be successful.
If life
were to be an examination, your questions on your sheet are completely
different from the other students in the examination hall. Therefore, it’s
expected that your answers, solutions, findings, calculations, research pattern
are likely to differ but a successful result is the target.
Wrap up
Since
the wake of this reality, I have become more confident, peaceful, stable and
focused knowing that I am not in competition with anyone rather in competition
with my flaws, ignorance and the earlier I get it fixed the faster I become
successful.
Quit spying on people's life, copy only the positive and build your own unique identity, remember people are watching and learning from you.
You have to stay on your lane cos you add color the variety of personalities. You spice up humanity, increase their taste for values and meet the need to hungry souls.
Don’t
quit being you.
